Information and access to municipal applications, licences, and permits required for various activities and services within the Township of Howick.

The following are the most frequently requested permit requirement and instruction forms for a variety of resident and business needs. Should you need further information on any one issue noted here, or any other issue that is not posted here, please contact the municipal office at 519-335-3208, or fax 519-335-6208.

As of July 2024, Canine Control services are now being provided by R&R Animal Control. For dogs at large / dog's found, please contact them at 519-509-9985. Please note that dogs MUST be contained prior to pickup. 

For all other Canine Control related services, please continue to contact By-law Enforcement at 519-335-3202.

Planning Applications include Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Minor Variances, Subdivisions/Condominiums and Consents (Severances).  Other types of planning applications include removal of Holding (H) symbol, renewal of Temporary Use Zoning By-law, Deeming By-law, Part Lot Control Exemption, Agreements and Draft Approval Extension.

Report an Incidence of Non-Compliance

The Township of Howick Adopt-a-Road Program has been established as a public service program for volunteers to pick up litter along certain municipal right of ways. Under the program, groups or individuals agree to adopt a section of road right-of-way and keep it clean. In addition to a cleaner environment, the volunteer(s) are recognized by a sign erected by the Township acknowledging their efforts.
