Postal Strike – Bill Payment Options

Canada Post has announced a national strike, resulting in a disruption of mail services. During this time, delivery of bills, tax notices, and other correspondence from the Township of Howick will be delayed. Incoming mail to the Township will also be affected.

Please note: you are still responsible for ensuring your tax bill and other invoices are paid on time. Late charges will apply to overdue payments. We strongly advise residents not to send payments through the mail until postal service resumes.

Payment Options During the Disruption

Residents and businesses may use any of the following methods to make payments:

  • Pre-authorized payment plans
  • In person at the Township Office (cash, cheque, or debit)
  • Drop box at the Township Office (located to the right of the front entrance)
  • Online banking through your financial institution
  • At your financial institution (in-branch payments accepted)
  • Interac e-Transfer, credit card, or debit card via PaySimply (third-party transaction fees apply)

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this disruption. For updates, please continue to monitor the Township website and social media.
