Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority - Watershed Conditions Update – Water Safety Statement now in Effect

Updated: Apr 4, 2025

Saugeen Conservation has downgraded the Flood Watch to a Water Safety Statement.

Heavy rain earlier this week caused water levels to rise across the watershed. Smaller streams have already peaked and are receding. The Main Saugeen River has crested upstream of Walkerton, with downstream areas like Brockton and Saugeen Shores expected to peak soon, but remain below levels of concern.

Forecast rain may keep water levels elevated into next week, but significant flooding is not expected. Minor flooding may occur in low-lying areas.

Stay safe: Keep clear of fast-moving water, streambanks, and structures like bridges and dams.

This statement is in effect until Tuesday, April 8 at noon, unless conditions change.
