Rehabilitation of Wroxeter Bridge on Water Street

Water Street in Wroxeter will be closed between Gibson Street and Mill Street from March 25 to June 7, 2024 (or upon project completion).

The Township of Howick has awarded a contract to rehabilitate the Wroxeter Bridge located on Water Street in Wroxeter, Ontario. The Wroxeter Bridge crosses the Maitland River. The work includes repairs to girders, abutments, wingwalls and deck soffit as required.

Construction work is scheduled to begin on March 25, 2024 and is anticipated to be completed by June 7, 2024. For updates on this project, please visit www.howick.ca or follow the Township of Howick on Facebook or Instagram. 

Traffic Control
To complete the required work, Water Street from Gibson Street to Mill Street will be closed to through traffic.
The contractor will be required to maintain access to residential properties in this area, but no vehicles will be permitted on the bridge. Pedestrian sidewalk access over the bridge will also be closed.

A detour route will be set up at Queen Street to Brussels Line to Harriston Road.
